Our Story
Creepy Christmas was born from a simple idea. Christmas has always had a darker side and that is part of what makes it magical.
Long before twinkling lights, perfect presents, and polished traditions, winter celebrations were rooted in folklore, mystery, and survival. Ancient stories warned children to behave, honored spirits of the season, and acknowledged the shadows that came with the longest nights of the year. Somewhere along the way, those stories were softened, sanitized, and tucked away.
We are here to bring them back.
Creepy Christmas is not about rejecting the holiday. It is about reimagining it. We celebrate eerie folklore, gothic aesthetics, unconventional traditions, and the strange comfort found in winter’s darkness. Krampus, haunted ornaments, unsettling decor, shadowy legends, and spooky nostalgia all belong here.
This is Christmas for the people who always felt a little out of place in the shiny version of the season.
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and evolve the darker traditions of Christmas through creativity, storytelling, and community.
Creepy Christmas exists to honor folklore and forgotten winter traditions while giving modern creators and collectors a place to explore them freely. We believe Christmas can be cozy and unsettling, nostalgic and strange, comforting and eerie all at once.
We are building something that lasts beyond December. A space where creepy Christmas is not a novelty but a year round celebration of winter’s mystery.
More Than a Store
Creepy Christmas is a collective. A growing community of people who love the strange, the eerie, and the unexpected side of the holidays.
While we create creepy Christmas merchandise, the heart of this project goes far beyond products.
Through the Creepy Christmas Journal, we share stories, folklore, traditions, and inspiration that shaped the darker side of winter celebrations. Explore the journal here.
Our community continues to grow inside the Creepy Christmas Facebook Group, where members share decor, DIY projects, collections, traditions, and personal stories tied to creepy Christmas. Join the community here.
Whether you celebrate year round or only lean into the shadows during the season, you belong here.
Why Creepy Christmas Exists
Because not everyone connects with glossy perfection. Because folklore matters. Because winter has always been mysterious. Because Christmas has always had a darker side.
Creepy Christmas exists for collectors, artists, decorators, storytellers, and anyone who finds beauty in the eerie side of the season.
A Note From the Founder
Creepy Christmas started the same way a lot of meaningful traditions do. Around a table, during the holidays, talking about the parts of Christmas that always felt a little darker, stranger, and more interesting than the version we were shown.
The folklore. The warnings. The eerie decorations. The stories that felt old, imperfect, and real.
What began as a creative outlet and a shared love for creepy holiday traditions slowly turned into something bigger. A place to create. A place to write. A place to connect with others who felt the same pull toward the darker side of the season.
Creepy Christmas is still growing. It is still evolving. And it is shaped just as much by the community as it is by its creator.
Thank you for being part of it.
